    last sunday morning on our tarmacadamed driveway there was a carpet of sluglike worms following the heavy rain.they literally covered it and could be seen wriggling,nightmare stuff!just wondering if this happened to amyone else and what caused it?

    You answered your own question, it was the rain that brought them to the surface after the long dry spell

    Someone rang in about the same thing on the Gerry Ryan (RIP) show last week. They are the larvae of Crane Flies (Daddylonglegs). Were they brown. It sounds disgusting.

    was on Joe Duffy too awhile back, basically once they come out they will continue to do so for years.... there was a girl on there who had the problem every year in the autumn she sprays the grass with insecticide (sp?) She cant go on the grass for 2 weeks after but by the sounds of it, its worth it!! Im sure if you go to joe duffys web page there might be something there or email the show for the name of the insecticide.
