A debt collection agency send letters asking for money, then reminders, then legal threats, then legal proceeding date, then you are blacklisted and wont be able to have a bank account/loan/credit card.
Not in Ireland. Nobody but the banks and credit unions can blacklist you.
I know i'd be chasing after the money. 500 euro is a massive amount of money in my situation. To have that in my account I would consider myself to be very very lucky.
    Agreed.

I used to be a Debt Collector and to get that kind of money back it'll cost you about you about €100 in costs but realistically its a drawn out process and a pain in the arse..

So what about the viper, is he genuine? Would it be advisable to hire him?

Hes genuine but works on intimidation so he'll sit outside this chaps house watching him.. just making him aware of his presence.. its how he works..
hey its like this if you want your money back he'll get it but i don't know what his costs are??

I doubt Vipey would get involved for this kind of small change. I imagine the amount yer man is in to you for would be more like Viper's minimum fee.

You'd be surprised now, all debt collectors will take on whatever retrieval work is out there... especially with the recession and the debt some people have got themselves into..

Wouldnt it be worth getting the debt chased even if it cost up to the amount owed just to teach the fecker a lesson! :)

He frightens me too!!!!!! And I'd feel very wary of hiring him. What if he demanded E1000 more than ur debt as payment when he actually had ur money? What could you do? And to think a fella like him would know who you are, where you live etc.? I dunno. Anyone have any experience of dealing with him?

No but he took a lot of work off my former boss, its not regulated in this country so thats where the main problem is. Get in contact to see his charges etc etc then decide what you wanna do??

If you're going to do it, do it right.

Print up a big placard saying <Polish Dude> owes me 500 euro and refuses to pay. Nice and big. In red letters.

Go down to the guards and inform them of your intentions.

Go to his house at 7AM with said placard and stand on the path outside the house. Do not trespass.

When he goes to work, follow him there. Repeat. Stay for an hour or so.

When you turn up the next day he will realise you mean business and will consider his options.

Saw a lad do this a few years ago - looked like lots of fun. No sign of him after day two.

It is not beyond the realms of possibility that the disappearance might be related to encroachment upon the turf of a rival debt collector.
