Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
I have no signal to the monitor, i have found it to be the graphics card which is a 9800gtx+, when this is plugged in i get no picture but the pc boots up ok i can hear it run and sound of windows start up, also the fans on the graphics card are running at 100% and very loud, when i put my old one in the pc boots up fine with with picture,
so is my graphics card kaput or can something be done

    Thanks

    Start windows in safe mode.
That'll put it in a lower resolution that is should support.
See if you get anything then.

    Other tips...

    1. Uninstall the graphics drivers and install the latest 9800gtx+, before you boot the pc.
    2. If you're using an AGP port, check that AGP is enabled in the BIOS
    3. The newer graphics cards don't get all their power supply from the motherboard directly, they have another cable that must be connected. Not sure the proper name, but it caught me out before. Think it might be a PCI-Express power socket. So you may not have connected up your graphics card fully.

Drivers are correct, it's not a new pc was working fine yesterday, old card works fine but current card will not give a signal to monitor, lights are on the card both power supplys are connected to it but the fans are running at top speed on the card on boot up

ok just realized when i have the old card in and fully booted up onto desktop i get a warning that my card is not at full power because of lack of power to it. my current card needs to much juice it must not be able to even show a signal to the monitor, problem now is i don't have a power supply good enough to power my current card to test it, could even be a problem with motherboard
anyway of testing the power output from my motherboard to the pci express slots?
