    Hi,

I bought an IP Web Cam and want to be able to view it on the net from anywhere. I have set it up to register the dynamic IP address with dyndns.org so it looks something like this - http://bfg.dyndns.org:8005 (i'm not using bfg but put it in for an example)
But it doesn't work and I think my problem is the port number.

Does anyone know what port numbers NTL/UPC allow?

I can view images on my iPhone only when I'm connect to the local wireless around my house but I need to be able to view images when not at home.

I know ideally an static IP address is the best way around this, but that costs too much. I'm hoping a Dynamic DNS solution is workabout.

    Thanks
    - BFG

PS: PM me if anyone know numbers that I could use but dont want to post on open thread for some reason.

Have you opened the opened and port forwarded the required port in the router?

    Thanks Jonathan,

UPC gave me a Cisco EPC2425 Wireless Modem Router thingy.

I just found this thread explaining how I get access to the router admin
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055560100&page=2

I put in the forwarding details and the internal IP address for my IP Web Cam and it seems to be working now using the http://bfg.dyndns.org:8005 address.

Must do some more tests, but so far looks good.
