going to cavan on holiday, i want to know all

please tell me about cavan the good the bad
where to shop for bargains
markets
restaurants
hotels
gardening centres

i am hoping to go there for 3 days within the next 3 weeks
i do not want to go to touristy locations
would rather call to those places during daytime
but would rather socialise with the locals
hepl please

yes
have never been there
would like to see for myself
i have travelled alot out side of ireland
yet i would like to see more of my own right now

Bring your fishing rod, just about the only good thing in Cavan is the multitude of lakes.

Sorry to disappoint you but Cavan is not particularly interesting, there's a nice park in Kingscourt and that's about it.

Farnham Estate - SAS Radisson - Haven't been there yet myself but should be good. Farnham Estate was formerly the residence of Lord Farnham.

Pop into the Abby Bar on the roundabout near the bus station for a pint or try The Imperial for something a bit more lively. Shopping isn't great in Cavan. If your there on a Saturday head to Clogher Market on the clones road. Now you'll get a bargin or two there!!! Check out the local paper for any events coming up.. Anglo Celt I think.
