Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No sign of a thread yet so might as well get the ball rolling...

    safc_badge.gif V mufcstk_1616_general.jpg

Obviously events elsewhere could have a big impact on how this game goes. It is Sunderland's last home game of the season so they will be looking to put in a big final performance. If the game at Old Trafford between the 2 teams is anything to go by it should be quite a battle.

    Possible starting XIs:

Sunderland: Gordon, Kilgallon, Da Silva, Turner, Richardson, Henderson, Cana, Malbranque, Bent, Jones, Campbell.

Man Utd: Van der Sar, Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Valencia, Berbatov, Rooney.

what potential formation is that? 433 with Richardson at LB?

Whether Chelsea win, lose or draw, this is obviously a must win for United. Going for 1-3 win again this week and Berba to shine.

I couldn't tell you to be honest. Sky Sports came up with those potential starting XI's, not me ;) The United one looks spot on though to me unless Ferdinand comes in for Evans.

I think the title will be Chelseas come 6pm today.

Cannot see any other outcome than Sunderland being chewed up, spat out and then stood on. An avalanche of goals to sink them. AT LEAST 3-0 to United.

The pool Chelsea match will probably dictate how this goes. If Chelsea win I wouldn't be surprised if United lost as they'd effectively have nothing to play for.

That's in no way true. If Chelsea win, that should spur United on even more, as they know that in order to have any chance of lifting the title they must win. Even if Chelsea win, There is no way United will have "nothing to play for"...

Effectively nothing go play for. It's do or die for united today, before they kick a ball. Sure there's still a chance on the final day if they win, but in my mind it would be over.

Rooney and Ferdinand both trained Friday, and seem fit apparently.

    Utd fans probably know that.

How am I talking nonsense? If Chelsea win today thats more than likely the league gone for United, unless of course Chelsea dont beat Wigan on the last day, which Im fully aware of,which I also think is unlikely in the extreme. So it could be a huge psychological blow to United if the pool dont get a result against Chelsea before they kick off and they may lose the game. Maybe I should have worded it better but my point (opinion) still stands. Can you understand that?????

Only lost to chelsea and villa at home, usually play good stuff at home. Will be difficult for United, think they will win by the odd goal all the same. Ha'way the lads!

Valencia still struggling after the injury he picked up last week?
Hope Nani has a good game.

Eager to see how Nani does. This will be a tough game. I think I saw that Sunderland are unbeaten at home in the league in 2010. Beaten some good teams.

    Hope United can edge it.

Hope haregreves gets a run for few mins

VdS O'Shea Vidic Evans Evra Nani Fletch Scholes Giggs Berba Rooney. Subs: Foster Hargreaves Ferdinand Brown Park Carrick Macheda

Not really much on the bench attackingly apart from Macheda. Hopefully Hargreaves gets a run here

You think SAF will be blocking the news at Anfield from his players ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

1-1. They know Chelsea has the title wrapped up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭eclectichoney

Carrick in the bench again I see!

Would love Hargo to get a run out, or at least not get injured warming up along the touchline :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,055 ✭✭✭ParkRunner

Hopefully it will be 3 points for United. You never know what can happen!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,590 ✭✭✭jaykay74

Hopefully Utd finish with 2 wins and make Chelsea win it properly rather than hand it to them in a whimper.
