Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Liverpool
    liverpool-fc-crest.jpg

    VERSUS

    Chelsea
    chelseafc.jpg
    Venue: Anfield, Liverpool.

    Coverage Starts SS1, 1pm. K.O. 1:30pm.

Huge game for both sides today; Chelsea needing victory here to keep their noses in front of Man United. Liverpool need the win to keep up some hope of a Top 4 finish.

Chelsea team line up: Cech, Cole, Terry, Ivanovic, Ferreira, Ballack, Lampard, Malouda, Kalou, Anelka, Drogba. (I reckon)

    Not sure of Liverpool one.

This is a must win for Chelsea, and I think they will be good enough to do it, Anfield factor and everything else aside. 2-0 Chelsea!

Its 0-0 in the 93rd minute, Gerrard picks up a loose ball and turns towards his own goal, passes to Carra who slots the ball past Pepe as he "distracted" by a beach ball.

    3-1 Chelsea.

As a pool fan i do think they will give it their all but i still cant see it being good enough. I can see Chelsea eaking out a scrappy 1 nil win . I think playing 120 minutes on Thursday night will be pretty evident today & although we may start well i can see Chelsea gaining the upper hand in the 2nd half.

Tight match i reckon will finish 1-1.

No rolling over from Liverpool, but unfortunately they just aren't good enough, that coupled with thursdays effort in the EL can only mean a handy win for Chelsea

All his comments in the press over the last few days would suggest so.
He seems to be setting the wheels in motion for an exit.

think it has draw written all over it but the game the other night took alot out of Liverpool.

All I want is chelsea to drop points :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

it will take a monumental Liverpool performance to win this.

we're going to be tired; you could see the laggy legs on Thursday, even after 60/75mins, and Chelsea will be very fresh.

plus they're a better team than us.

    1-3.

    Drogba to enbarrass Carragher unfortuantely.

I have a funny feeling that this will end up a draw, have been thinking about it for the last few weeks and I reckon the way the season has gone, this game will produce the ultimate irony.Say what you will about Liverpool/United but the Pool hate Chelsea nearly as much as they hate United.Twill be an interesting game.

I had stated previously Liverpool will throw it, there was some tongue and cheek, I don't think there's any doubt liverpool will do thier best but there just not good enough they'll get badly done today.

    Line-up from offical

Strongest possible line-up - would imagine Johnson not up to it:(

Babel probably a bit unlucky after Thursday but wouldn't be surprise if fatigue was an issue

    Reina
    --Masch--Carra--Kyrgiakos--Agger--
    Lucas--Gerrard
    ----Maxi----Aquilani----Benayoun--
    Kuyt

Subs: Cavalieri, Babel, Pacheco, Ngog, El Zhar, Degen, Ayala.

I expect nothing less then our players to give their all... saying that I really cannot see past Chelsea for today.

Drogba is going to run riot I feel.

That's the strongest defence we've fielded all season, Malouda vs. Masch should be good.

Would expect all subs used today - Babel, Ngog and Pacheco for Yossi, Kuyt and Aquilani I'd imagine

Mach having to be played OOP is massive imo.

Think Chelsea will win 2-1 :(

Find it hard to imagine Liverpool getting a result given how fatigued they were at the end of the 120 mins Thursday.

Kuyt and Gerrard were like statues in the final ten minutes and a lot of the rest weren't much better.

If we do lose, I'd like at least like it to be a score draw as that would help Pepe v Cech in the Golden Gloves competition.

Unfortunately I have to say that it's probably going to be 4-0 or 5-0 to Chelski, with the hero of the hour, JT getting a couple of jammy ones to boot.

As a United fan I don't expect a lot from Liverpool, maybe if Torres was fit and they hadn't had that extra time in midweek I'd fancy them to put up a fight, but it just doesnt seem realistic today.:(

    Glazers Out!
