Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd say its more the rumours af a 19th title to be honest!

have you seen gerrard playing this season, must be rumours of a 19th title in all the games he played :)

He's not that realistic in terms of displacing him because of Johnson's reputation versus Gerrard's If the team were to be picked on form then Johnson would be ahead of Gerrard on the left.

Don't underestimate Capello, the man is a winner, and will drop anone who isn't performing.

    ---

Not too sure it's a penalty, I think Kalou trips himself.

At least the ref is trying to keep the game competitive.

Well Terry has been affected by off the pitch talk he is human and if they are true it would have to affect him.

Something needs to be done about these fuccking refs - replays need to be introduced.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

Kalou had an easy shot on goal there, but he would rather dive and let someone else take the responsibility. Great player...

Chelsea in a bit of a huff but it was not a peno. Anyway a completely unmemorable first half but for the Gerrard assist.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

Lol, so has Gerrard played a killer ball against every team in the Premiership now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,137 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

Had tickets for this but my mother and aunt went instead because of my work commitments. Not too bothered funnily enough.

He took a knock and tripped, wasn't a dive tbh.

Painful viewing. Liverpool not trying..Chelsea look bored.

Umm his own legs tangled wasn't a peno but Lucas was clumsy and could have been given by another ref

We started well but have lost our way a bit since goal went in

Kalou tripped over himself, but only did so because Lucas caught his right leg.

Not a dive, not a card for Lucas, but still a free/penalty though, no?

I wouldn't use the phrase stone wall to describe it, but I did feel Lucas makes enough contact to upset Kalou's balance. I'd have given a penalty tbh.

Drogba's top of the class at the Thierry Henry School for Fooling Gerrard.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,082 ✭✭✭✭Spiritoftheseventies

Give credit to drogba for snapping up the backpass. Was very quick there. But Stevie G a bold boy all the same

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,441 ✭✭✭✭jesus_thats_gre

I thought it was penalty myself. I am glad he didn't give it though as Lucas would have been sent off despite it being an accident.

We were playing pretty well up to the goal. Sort of coming back into it a wee bit.

As much as I don't want Utd to win the title, watching this game makes me realise what a horrible team this Chelsea side are.

Terry, we all know what he is like, Ballack...the name says it all.
Drogba, diving, moaning and complaining all the time. Kalou, another diver, and now Ancellotti on the sideline complaining as well, and then at the half time whistle they all surround the ref like a mob.

All they are short of is Gary Neville in the side.

Watch until the end of this video, Gerrard has played killer balls for the opposition for a long time!

Will be curious to see if Redknapps theory on Gerrard pans out

Gray and Redknap are talking some rot saying that was definitely a peno. It was no where near a peno.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

If that incident had happened outside the box, the ref would have blown for a free!!

A good bet for today is a Jamie Carragher (o.g) He's prolific with them!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

**** it anyway. Liverpool were having the better of it up until the goal.

Lost their way since it went in. Hoping for a 30 yarder from Gerrard to make amends.

I'd be well pissed off If I was ancelotti as well, it was a 100% penalty, can't see how anyone can claim it was a dive.

Watching the peno again at half time, I think that Lucas did in fact nick Kalou's leg and trip him up.

Yeah, overall i thought we were the better team.

Passed it around well!! In the famous Blackburn match in 95, we were one down at half time as well and turned it around to win two one!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

Jamie Redknapp is probably rite, Gerrard will be in there at half time wanting to make up for his balls up, regardless of where the league title is going

Chelsea tried to con ref in first few minutes. Players need to start being a bit more honest.

Fabregas and Gallas are not too nice! Spoiled kid syndrome every time a decision goes against them.

Hopefully Liverpool actually take one of their chances in the 2nd half. They have made space for 20 yard shots a good few times too.
