Any of you out there who still have a stash of pre Euro Irish coins, there is a coin counting machine in the Central Bank building in Dame st, they give you a reciept with the amount on it you go upstairs and that is converted into Euros and all with no charge. the only problem i had was that there was a handfull of English 1 and 2 pences if they see those they will ask you to remove them as the machine can't see the differance.

    Is this machine still there?

Tesco in Clearwater have got new self scan machines in like the ones in Clare Hall (coin pour not the slot type) - just pour the coins in when paying for your groceries - and it does the counting for you.
