Cork County Council put hundreds of affordable houses for sale on the open Market a few weeks ago. It seems that some of them particularly houses close to the city have been sold. Anybody looked into this or have an opinion on the pricing.

Prices seem reasonable for now, but really shocked at some of the prices in Cloyne, Cobh, Youghal, Carrigtohill etc as my ex partner looked at a lot of these at the height of the boom in 2006 and in some cases they were double the selling prices for now. 110k for Cloyne is particularly shocking - I recall places there going for at least 220k at the height of the boom.

The prices for the city are still fairly high but good value for Ballincollig, Midleton, which are easy commutes to the city or hinterlands.

The prices do seem better the further out they are but they would still be just about affordable now for those on average incomes. and the prices for some of the places closer to the city are still pretty high. e.g. 230k for small two beds in Rochestown.
