Got my copy of the Limited Edition, just have to wait til lunch to play it.

One thing though, I see no sign of a soundtrack ... is there supposed to be a seperate disc? Or is this download? I see nothing here to tell me how to get it ...

Nix that ... I just read the yoke that's in it (thought it was just a leaflet promoting a mission pack, info's on the back) .... have to download it with a code.

That yoke.. is it just a flyer with a redemption code on back with picture of the war horse?
If so i think the girl in HMV just gave me the LE version for the regular price...lol

A flyer is the word I should've used! No war horse on mine though, it's got a picture of a sheriff and another chap shooting (Rstar8 and Rstar3).

Game will probably be €45 by tomorrow (if Alan Wake was anything to go by - I got it for €50 on Friday morning, and it had dropped to €45 by Saturday).

Nope, on the back is a picture of each of the downloads (assassins outfit, golden guns, war horse, and soundtrack) with a short description of each, and instructions on how to download them. The code isn't a scratch off one.

had this ordered off Gamesnash and it arrived nice and early yesterday morning. managed to get a good few hours in. I've been steering relatively clear of the main story missions so far and just been riding around, helping out strangers and hunting animals. Loving it so far. The level of detail is as amazing as you'd expect.

Just got the Lasso towards the end of my playing last night and it really opens up the scope of the game. Nothing like riding full pelt into a town swinging your lasso and roping in some poor unsuspecting dude and just dragging him along behind you while a posse starts to chase you down.

Playing Poker in game is so so until you get the Elegant suit and can start cheating. Makes the game great then as your slipping cards away all the time.

My only complaint with the game so far is that water = instant death. Once in thieves landing i just fell off a jetty and died and another time didn't take a corner quickly enough and ploughed into the water on my horse. I felt a bit cheated by dying each time I have to say.

Still so much of the game to be seen and done. Between the single player and forming a posse for online I think this game will keep me busy for quite some time.

Anyone try Argos? Argos in the UK are selling for the cheapest, but it's not listed on the Irish website.

    £33.99 (PS3) / £34.99 (360)

had someone pick up RDR for me this morning, i traded in Bad Company 2, which according to the guy in game meant 50% off RDR, plus traded in 3 old non sport games which was supposed to be another 10 euros, and ended up having to give 9 euros cash..

thing is, 9 + 10 * 2 = 38...so unless i got more for my games than the guy said yesterday then game in cruises street limerick are doing it for 38 euros..

or the person picking it up for me picked up the wrong game...

I saw it for €45 in Game in Cork just there. I'm pretty sure it was anyway, I picked up my copy in HMV so not 100% certain.

    ah sorry pedantic pat, :D

    (9+10) *2 ..

The code I posted yesterday worked for Smyths (so I got it for €45).
The guy pretty much ordered me to delete the text message, and watched me while I did it.

No, but he was very gruff about it. It was like he'd been told that a small child or a family member would lose a finger every time the code was used.

Gamestop were only giving me 9.50 trading in Bioshock 2 and AVP.

Smyths gave me 25 for them, so got Red Dead for 30. S'Alrite!!!

I rang my local Xtra Vision and they quoted me 55 with 30 off for Alan Wake. Went to HMV Grafton St, 45 and 33 for Alan Wake, so RDR cost me 12 blips!!:D:pac:

Also, HMV gave me one of the warhorse vouchers. Opened the game up and there was another one in there:pac:. I've to see if any of the lads at home want it, but if not I'll post up here over the weekend if anyone wants it - dunno if it's free anyway or not or even if it'll add anything to the experience.

Ya I was expecting that from them though.

So no BFBC2 for a while now, the squad will be replaced for a posse.

Is this better on the 360 or PS3? Or they pretty much perform the same and just go for the cheaper option?

    Go for the 360.

It's been widely documented that the PS3 suffers from a couple of problems - lower resolution, poorer frame rate etc.

    Cheers

I'm thinking about getting the Limited Edition, anyone know the cheapest place to get it? I plan to trade-in some of my older games (Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, COD 4) so I don't have to spend too much ;)
