Shes my first dog so hope to get your advice over the next while!
So the breeder told me she was wormed yesterday and that i should do it every week, so will be bringin her to the vet next monday, is this ok? Oh and she kinda breaths loudly after wakin up, as if her nose is blocked. This goes after a few minutes, is this normal?

deadlast, congrats on the new pup!

For worming, a pup needs to be wormed every 2 weeks till 12 weeks of age. Then every month till 6 months old. Then every 3 months.

Your pup will be needed to be treated for fleas. I use Frontline tabs and they say a pup can be treated at 8 weeks old and then every 2 months.

Your pup has the first vacc so will need to get a 2nd and 3rd one from the vet. After the 3rd vacc you can take the pup outside the house for walks - not beforehand.

Plus when the pup is ready for walks the general rule is 5 mimutes walking for every month of age - if you walk too much at the start this will affect bone development.

(Not sure about the breathing issue - maybe check with your vet.)

Taken out at 7 weeks? I thought it had to be 8 weeks?

Your vet should start a plan with you about worming, injections, boosters etc.

The heavy breathing, hmm, sleeping above a carpet? Might not be used to dust. Or it's simply snoring and not woken up yet :P Tell the vet anyway. Good luck and get those pics up!

Get her vaccinated for kennel cough as soon as you can. Our boxer pup caught it at one point. Woulda vaccinated before had we been advised

Congrats! Boxers are just too cute! Mines 10 mths old now, just so much fun! I wouldnt worry about the loud breathing, its to do with the way their noses are squashed in. If you are concerned though talk to your vet! I always bring mine to the vet to be wormed and treated for fleas (the prevention of), once a month for fleas and he does the worming then every 2nd or 3rd visit. I think its Advocate he uses for fleas, puts it on her skin at the back of the neck and it will kill any fleas that may land on your dog for a month after application. Also dont forget pet insurance, I learnt my lesson the hard way there! Around 15 euro a month online. Have lots of fun with your new pup, if you're located in Dublin theres a dog park in Marley Park, Rathfarnham - always boxers up there, little puppy ones too and they can run around playing together. Its a great way to socialise them with other dogs from a young age and all fenced in so they're nice n safe! Enjoy!:)
