Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do you get a box with a red x where the images should be?

Do you have adblocker or similar ad blocking software installed?

Have you tried clearing your cache (delete browsing history ->delete all)?

Could you take a full screenshot of your browser window with a donedeal page loaded and post it here?

What web browser are you using?

Is this the image you're getting:

Can you see all images on other websites (try at least 10)?

I'm afraid I can't think what would be causing this straight away but I'll give you a couple of things to try.

Can you please take some screenshots of your browser window on adverts.ie and attach them here, it could help a lot.

Where exactly did you get this from: .
Does it appear in your browser window above on below the 'Image not found' picture? did you get it from the picture properties or page source code?

Please click this link (in Firefox) and tell be what it says (copy and paste whatever you get in your next post, or describe it as best you can. http://ml.cache.adverts.ie/

Last thing, what operating system are you using?

Ya I'm starting to think it's likely a problem with your ISP. Are you with 3 broadband? If not, who is your ISP?

It's likely to be a DNS server problem. The servers your using might not have a listing for ml.cache.adverts.ie, which is where adverts.ie host the images posted by users.

We can try chamging your DNS servers, do this:
To specify that Windows should use a particular DNS server:

Open the Network Connections control panel:

In Windows Vista, from the Start menu:
1. Choose the “Control Panel”, then
2. “Network and Internet”, then
3. “Network and Sharing Center”, then
4. “Manage network connections” from the list of tasks on the left hand side of the window.
5. Right-click on the network connection that you want to want to specify the DNS server for, and select “Properties” from the menu.
6. Select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP)” from the list of items, and then click on the “Properties” button, which should lead you to a dialog box.
7. Select “Use the following DNS server addresses” and enter 8.8.8.8 for your 'preferred dns' and enter 208.67.222.222 for your 'alternate DNS'.
8. Click the "OK" button
Reboot your computer and then check in all your browsers if you can now see the images.

Let me know if this works for you.

as you can see i have it done but it does cause problems on other web sites and adverts is still the same story no pic at all
is there any other solution to try

yes im on 3 network

thanks a lot

Yes you seem to have done it right. I did a quick search on the problem and it seems to be a problem that effects all 3 broadband customers. Adverts.ie have a support forum here on boards:

http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=646

They have been informed of the issue your having and claim to be 'working on it'. The problem is clearly with your ISP, so there's nothing you can do. I would have thought it a DNS problem, but maybe not.

I'm surprised that changing your DNS servers has caused you problems with other sites. Did you remember to reboot after changing them? Anyway, please just repeat the instructions above and change the DNS settings back to 'obtain DNS automatically'.

Hopefully they'll get the problem fixed soon.

Good luck,

Razzuh

From what your saying there might be another way, you can download and install a program called Tor. It bypasses you're isp by redirecting you're web traffic through a different computer that would not have the issues that you are experiencing.
