halfing dovetail bridle joint mortise and tenon joints

my teacher tipped those to come up because of the size of the timber

probably a picture frame or an easel or something like that

I could easily have taken the paper out of the room...Just left it behind on my bench without thinking.

I'm honestly not sure of the names of the joints but there was some mortes and tenon joints? And a dovetail in the middle piece.

As I said, i'm not sure..we only started practicing for the practical test 2 weeks ago!

was it a weird dovetail or just a normal 1 ?
was it all straight or was things slanted and stuff if it was something for art?

Heres some gibberish description that I sent in a PM to another user :o
    It's hard to describe!!
It looks something like the 2009 test...At the front there is also 3rd vertical piece that goes up through the middle and makes a dovetail with the horizontal piece ( that joins to the 2 side pieces with a mortise and tenon joint) there is also some sort of cap piece thingy that goes on top of the 3rd vertical (middle) piece.

The Dowel also joins the flat bottom piece to just behind the dovetail.

Good luck even trying to read that description! I really should have kept the paper!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭Geard

No Just what you see. A Mortise and you have to chisel a trench out...and cut off a bit of wood with a tenon saw.
