    Hopefully someone can help me out. This doesn't help.

    I'm 3rd year computing. So i'll be getting my ordinary degree this summer... the only question is, how is the degree result calculated (pass, merit, distinction etc..).

    Is it based on 3rd year only...
    • 50% for semester 5
    • 50% for semester 6

    Or does it go something like this;
    • 25% for semester 4, year 2
    • 37.5% for semester 5, year 3
    • 37.5% for semester 6, year 3

    I can't believe this sort of crucial information is nowhere to be found. I'm led to believe it's the latter formula but i don't think anyone really has a clue. The usual 'well it was like this a while back, but might have changed' stuff.

    Having been through it I have the information but its back home and I wont be there until the weekend, even then I doubt I'll have time to dig out the exact figures.

    From memory, your results from second year account for something like 12.5% of your total degree at the end of third year.

    As I say thats just from memory, I have 12.5% and 13.5% in my head.

    I might be able to find out for sure off an ex class mate later.

    Turns out I was wrong
    30% of of our mark was set from the second semester
    of year 2 and the remaining 70% from the two semesters of year 3.

    I'd be fairly sure he is correct
