    Depends who "we" are:p

Weather looks very similar to yesterday, so the toss could be important again

I'm sure this is a topic most of you have discussed and you're probably fed up with that... so for that i apologise! but, on what grounds does Morgan play for England!?!

I know they're far superior at the sport but surely as an Irishman he does not qualify to play for England, has he an English parent or something?

One Irishman in "our" team - how many in the Irish team?

Hopefully "we" will get something approaching 200 again, and put the pressure on

Just need to perfect that anti-rain dance now

I make it 9. And our 2 foreign friends moved to Ireland after meeting Irish girls and marrying them. Not as mercenaries, they also had never played for their countries full team.

How many English on the English team? :p

Ireland don't play at the top level (Test cricket) so our players can declare for one of the Test playing nations after fulfilling certain crieria.

Equivalent would be if Ireland didn't have an international senior football team, then our star players like Given, Keane and McShane would play for Ireland up to a certain standard and then declare for someone else.

This is all superstandard by the way, and happens in every sport where not every country competes at the top level.

hhmm, strange rule.... how can lesser sides develop(im thinking out loud! I'll leave you guys discuss the match-enjoy it!)

    ps... McShane, star player?!!!!

3 non-Irish in the team - Cusack, Botha and Johnston

and to be clear, I have absolutely no problem with that.

Only 7 English-born players in the England team, but Lumb is definitely an honorary Englishman (and more importantly Yorkshireman)

That Messers Duckworth & Lewis can help Ireland pull one over the English with a farcical 5 over chase (say around 50 runs)..:D

Nothing against England, but would love Ireland to qualify for the super-8's again..

Close call but sweet fielding. Not a bad start from Ireland tbf.

It's actually a great start for Ireland - Johnston is on fire, and unlike yesterday England are not finding the boundaries - if you can get Morgan out cheaply England could be embarrassed

At last - many thanks!! And Ireland are doing well but no doubt will produce another English style batting collapse.

All celebrations aside, it could be a very tricky chase should the weather hold up.. The pitch doesn't look very good for strokemaking..

Fingers crossed, hoping its a D/L chase!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,230 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

It really is a good start. Wright and Eoin can do damage though.

Stream gone - how's the score now?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭myflipflops

England would probably be favorites defending 100 here. Need to break these guys now.

A bit of rain would suit quite nicely!

    58-4 after 11.5

    58/4 in 11.4 overs..

Morgan looks pretty comfortable out there, its a bitter-sweet pill to swallow..

True.. Swann, Broad and Bresnan are no mugs and can certainly throw their bats around.. Anything over 100 will be a jittery chase..

    75-4 after 14.

    Wicket would be smashing...

2 overs from Boyd will be the key.

A little bit tilting when the text commentary i'm reading says "If ever England needed Morgan, it is now"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,230 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL
