    hi all
    i need the expertise of you guys here
    would photoshop be the way to go to remove (improve) creases and tears on
    old photos
    apologies if this is a basic question

    Yeah it would take out anything given enough time, post the picture up and I am sure somebody will give it a go or at least give you some idea of how much it can be improved

    hi guys
    i had posted pictures to another site
    and they were "fixed" for me fantastically
    i wanted to have a go at it myself to see if i could do as good a job
    but needed to know what would be the ideal programs to use

    Photoshop is definitely a good tool for such work. :)

    Have you never seen melekalikimaka's restoration work with MS Paint? The man works miracles with that program. The photos always turn out great. I don't know how he does it.

    I have not... but the thought that anyone could actually do any actual work of any kind with ms-paint.. is pretty scary.
    Have you never seen melekalikimaka's restoration work with MS Paint? The man works miracles with that program. The photos always turn out great. I don't know how he does it.

    Holy crap!

    That's pretty amazing for something done in ms-paint. Truly amazing that you can make such an awful program do that much. Kudos! =D

    I've taken a stab it in in GIMP. (starting from the damaged.. I didn't cheat like I could have.) His forehead came out looking like a clearasil ad.. and I think your hair looks better by miles! It's strange how much lower on his head his left ear is than his right.

    I used to do restores all the time in Photoshop 6 & Photoshop 7.. haven't looked at one in AGES!
