Was in the Twisted Pepper from 10:30am until 3:30am yesterday. Most ridiculous day ever.

And someone shat in the urinal.

I went into the toilets in the UCC library last week only to notice a **** lying in the urinal. There wasn't even any toilet paper!

There's some twisted individuals out there

A mate of mine used to work in a place where someone (they never found out who) used to take a dump in the toilet, in the cubicle, but wipe their arse without taking the paper off the roll, then roll it up again.

I've a sometimes odd sense of humour myself but some people really need help!

Anyone thinking of/done a J1 in America before? Thinking of hitting San Fran on the west or NY on the east coast, but have no first hand experience of either. Looks like I'll be jetting off by myself too, any tips would be welcome as I have no clear idea in my head of where I'd like to go. Although a decent nightlife is essential of course.

I've never been but know a lad who was in SF for his J1. He said that house parties were all the rage over there - plenty of houses being soundproofed with parties going on until the next day and all that... At first he just asked around 'bout these supposed raves' in the places he worked and within a short period had made a few friends and was partying away etc...

Do go on your own. I was nervous about going interrailing on my own but it was ****ing great fun. The independence was great.

Out of interest, have we enough of us bitches* attending Cj Bolland & Frank De Wulf + Pierce Rooney on Fri night to warrant a pre gig meet up and if so, would any of the locals care to nominate a venue/time?

    * you'd know that I'm up to season 6 of Sunny :p

Sounds the biz to me. Had an interview today to work in a kitchen on long island beach in New York for the summer also, so I have that (hopefully) as an option now too.

Hopefully the NY nightlife will slightly improve on what Sligo is currently offering :pac:

Sigh… After Hours seems to be populated mainly by all the gobsh¡tes that were in your class in school. You know the really loud ones who thought they were really funny but the only reason people laughed at them was the hope that they would move onto someone else…

But Dublin Streets really is unintentionally a thing of beauty. It's great to have a resource out there to highlight the absolute arse nuggets that move amongst us:

Looking for those lads on facebook recently has made me feel grateful for Australia.

Seriously, every goon I see on classmates' friends lists, has a big bloody 'now living in melbourne/sydney/brisbane'.

Thought I had found an exception the other day but then his most recent status update was '2months2 Oz. session'.

Lads, the election's gonna be a bit of a headmelt for me.

I've always had a serious problem with Joan Burton, but after the Vincent Browne incident showing her up for what she is - a clueless power-hungry bint - I'm seriously considering not voting Labour.
Her inability to listen or comprehend what's going on in a conversation is all a bit of lulz when in opposition but can you imagine what it will be like if she becomes a minister (which is fairly likely)?

I've personally met her more than a few times, and I can tell you none of what happened was 'out of context' or put her in a disproportionately bad light.

I don't see Labour as a huge change to be honest.

I don't know who's running in my consituency yet, but I'm so disillusioned with the system a spoiled vote may well be what happens.

Edit: Actually, I see the United Left Alliance have Cllr. Richard Boyd Barrett running, will look into him

the only thing that has me clinging on to labour is their promise to get the ownership of schools back from the religious orders. I think that's a fairly big deal if they actually get it.

Of course Labour being Labour, they're not exactly telling everyone of that plan for fear they might piss off too many voters. And again, we come to the sh1ttiness of democracy.

A bit of backbone would do wonders for Irish Politics.

Boyd Barret is a very interesting politician......very very good at public rousing (I remember at the Anti-War protests years ago, he'd have the crowd baying for blood).
Problem is, he has smoked-salmon socialist written all over him. Oh and he's an absolute poster-boy for the looney left.

I'm starting to wobble on my usual steadfast labour vote and it's done to Burton and the civil service. We can't sustain the civil service we have here and I don't think Labour will be willing to do anything about it:

But God do I hate Enda Kenny, right wing politics really aren't my thing and Sinn Fein can kiss me hole so what to do?

I'm having a bit of an election conundrum myself.

At this stage I think that no matter what FF need to be taken out of power, even if I don't necessarily have faith in any of the others.

So far leaning towards labour, also because they want to move away from religious orders controlling education but I'm going to read up both the FG and Labour manifestos when I get a chance. Only thing is they have to be read with a pinch of salt as to what is actually achievable.

In a time of crisis I don't really see the point in voting for independants.

This guy Peter Mathews is going to be running in a Dublin constituency for FG afaik, he appears to have a proven record and is talkin what i would consider sense for a long time, one of a few things swaying me to FG, how much of a reign/election ploy he would be given is debatable, anyone familiar with him..?
