    Hey,

Anyone know a decent guide to the ins and outs of auctioneer and how to make the most of it?

I do use it to keep track of prices on certain things but most of it is gobbledegook to me.

    http://www.wowconfidential.com/making-gold/7-gold-making-addons/

    That is golden.

Tells you what addons to get and how to use them to effetively work the real pvp element in this game, the auction house.

Since watching that and doing as the video says, I've noticed a huge efficent upgrade in how i craft and post my auctions, but most of all making them sell all the time.

I had to stop listening after a while, it's pretty painful all right. So much for being an expert...

Otherwise a useful vid, if only for Postal and that /auc getall command.
I still fail to see how selling stuff for less (undercutting) can yield a profit, surely the trick is to buy low, sell high?
I'll stick with Auctioneer, I've a tinytask macro that refreshes and posts stuff automatically, so relisting is pretty painless.

That guy is world renowed as being the best auction house player.

He has hit the gold cap about 7 times, from just doing, what he has shown in his video, and the free resources he posts online.

Gold guides you pay for, have all his stuff in them yet he gives it for free.

Me and my friend started a "catajizz fund". Basically we put in 10k gold into a new gbank, withdrew 5k for matts, nad through using his information, guides and addons, we hope to hit the gold cap before catacylsm, or as much as we can.

Everytime we get over5k gold on our bank char we dump everything except 5k so we can see our profit, pure profit.

We are doing this 7 days and our guild bank has 16k or pure profit.

Not knocking the chap at all, he's an AH specialist, that's for sure, it's just amusing that he mispronounces the thing he's selling (unless that's the American for "gliffs"?) :D

So are you just playing the AH, or crafting/gathering as well?

Would all those add-ons not take a toll on the games overall preformance? I tried Auctioneer before and while I found it to be excellent, I didn't have the 20/30 mins everyday to just let it scan the AH. Might give it a try again though with that quick command he uses.

It's got a fast scan now that takes 30-60 seconds to fully scan the AH.

@ GP, does that fast scan require a fast connection or something? I seem to remember a proviso when using it in the past, so I stuck with the slow scan instead...

I just enable them on my bank alt, and only load questhelper on my main when out leveling.

I run on US servers from the UK and it's fine although it makes my connection go red whilst it's fast scanning. At the top of auctioneer there are pause/play and fastforward buttons. The fastforward is the quick get all one. Don't worry about the "warning" at most you'll just DC.

@Notorious I imagine it depends on your system and how much ram you have to spare as to whether or not addons affect performance.

I think lower ping reduces your chances of a disconnect. It works fine.

The new Auctioneer has a quick scan, takes me 2 minutes to scan.

The addons I run in the video are only on my bank char, so my raid characters dont have them on at all, so theres no difference in performance.

I've been gathering matts off the AH and crafting them into things that will sell well. What I've noticed over the last few months is a high rise the amount of people with little patience for the auction house.

In the space of the week, we have pretty much taken over EVERY market you can think off, from just being persistant.

We check our auctions every few hours, if we are undercut, we take them off, and re post.

The idea is you hae the threshold, at what point is TOO low that you stop making a worthwhile profit.

So If I make something thats worth 300g, I might have a threshold of maybe 190g. That means, I can drop my price from 300g down to 190g and still make a worthwhile profit, after that I just dont sell it.

Matts for our crafted stuff are stupidly cheap now, people just dont seem to see their worth, cause the amounts havnt gone up

The JC market has crashed on our server big time, as with everywhere else, but big time on ours.

With such a mass invlufxof honour spent gems, uncut gems are going pretty cheap. I'll probably gobble up 30 uncuts of the AH on the weekend ( when most inexperienced players play and sell for funny gold) and re list them cut on wendesdays.

But in the space of only two weeks this has happend.

Reckless ametrines are the second highest selling gem. After Runed cardinals they are pretty much the main gem for most caster classes, and the main gem for arcance mages.

They used to sell for 180g. And amertrines uncut used to be 85g. So it was a solid 100g profit most of the time. So I was picking up 30gems a week and cutting them making over 4k+ from just ametrines.

However, people clearly noticed the nice niche I had, and went overboard. People were undercutting me so much that the market toppled, and reckless amterines now go for 110g.

Its really nice for buyers, but its **** for me. I have had to since pull out of that market, with 60 gems in my bag waitng for a price to rise. I'm hoping things settle a little bit, but the JJC market in general has gone through the floor.

Profits are no longer the wholeseome 100g youd get from a cut gem, but more so like 30g, so the secret is operate in bulk. I never operate under 30 gems a visit, but with this amount of gems, the easier people can cut you, and the easier the market topples.

I pretty much own the market for Armour vellums, weapon vellums, scrolls of fortitude, tailoring leg enchants, glacial bags, frostweave bags, netherweave bags and a few more.

    Hehe

I hear you about inexperienced weekend players with honor to burn. Bought 2 x cardinal ruby for 65g each. Cut and resold for 159g each.

    Nice amount of profit
