Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know the best brick and mortar store to pick up a Desire simfree in Dublin?

How bad is the 02 or Vodafone branding on these phones?

And which is the better prepay deal between 02 and Vodafone?

    Thanks :)

A meteor phone on a 12 month contract (Connect €25) is only about €30 more than sim free and you get 12 months worth of calls and texts for that as well. No branding and not locked.

I didn't know O2 were doing the Desire yet.
I can't vouch for Vodafone, and I know it's not what you're asking, but my meteor Desire has no meteor branding at all, and came unlocked direct from a Meteor shop.

Yeah, first batch of phones on Meteor were all unlocked. Don't know if that's still the case, though. I think they were just in a rush to get it out before everybody else.

It won't matter seeing as they can be now easily rooted...

Rooting has nothing to do with sim locking.

Downside to buying sim free in a bricks and mortar shop is that they usually charge a fortune and online is generally cheaper....in my experience.

In any case there are unlock services
