Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fm104's Thick Listeners...

    Was heading home in a taxi the other night and heard the open mic with Ruairi Carroll on fm104. He was doing some quiz, taking callers on air yet asked a different question for the listeners who were texting in.

    I could not believe my ears when I heard him say 'lets see how thick our texters are'. To me, I found that to be very condescending and extremely arrogant.

    Talk about being a patronising so and so towards your listeners.... The people who make your show.

    It was bad form in my opinion and if I was a regular listener to the show, well, I certainly wouldn't be after that!

    Well its tongue in cheek. Remember Dave Fanning recalling last week how Gerry Ryan on his night time show on 2fm once was running a quiz.
    And said to one listener at the end of one call "Good luck with the labotomy"
    Re FM104 have you ever listened to the Adrian Kennedy show. Some of the callers would do your head in.
    Was painful to listen to at times

    Listened to show for about a year but just couldn't take it anymore. Show should carry a health warning IMO.

    This might indeed be true, and I'm sure at one stage or another every jock might experience someone who could be a few sandwiches short of a picnic, but to turn around and blatantly call them thick on air is unnecessary and in some way disrespectful to the people who take the time out to call or text in the show.

    Disrespectful and pretty dumb with it. 104 was better when they just played moosic.

    A joke.... No. Condescending.... Extremely.

    Easy way to lose listeners... Insult them!!! Doesn't take a genius (or a thick listener) to work that one out.
