Toyota Corolla '03 timing belt/chain

    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me if a '03 Corolla has a timing belt or a chain?

    If it has a belt how many miles should it be changed (is it 60,000 or so???)

    It's a chain (assuming yours is a VVT-i petrol) and you shouldn't need to replace it in the foreseeable future provided you haven't seriously neglected the car. you'll get plenty of warning if the chain is on the way out. It should last as long as the car does.
    Get a mechanic to have a listen, it may need a water pump anyway.

    It's the same engine so should have a chain too.

    Yep, RX300 as well :)

    All your common or garden Toyota VVT-i engines have chains.
