Just put loose decorative stones around our decking area a couple of days ago but the cats have started toileting on it. What can we do to stop them ?

You could try pouring vinegar over the stones, since cats are meant to hate the smell. And maybe provide somewhere else they might want to use the toilet instead. Maybe something like a sandbox or a litterbox with sand or some more stones?

Thank you will try the vinegar. Believe it or not they have a huge sandy area for their toilet but have taken a real fancy to the stones !!!

I don't know about the vinegar idea. I've had to wash my floors with vinegar when a stray tom cat came into the house and peed everywhere. My own cats didn't seem to mind the smell.

Could you spray them with water when you see them heading for the stones? I know it would mean constant vigilence though! :D
