    N2 is definitly much better than the first one, as his (her?) eyes are not sharp. It's an essential rule in photographing animals (or so my camera clubs tells me that is ;)) the eye must be deadsharp.

    That said, I do prefer N1 in regards to framing, the detail of the feathers and the "action" i.e. the drops flowing of his beak. It brings something more to the image.

    Other than that, I find both of them lack a bit of "punch". I think it's the crop - either zoom in all the way or frame the entire body with the surrounds. This particular framing sort of just floats in between.
