SplinterCellConviction OFF TOPIC (no thread to put it)

Sorry for putting it here but i cant find anywhere to put it.

On Splinter Cell Conviction on PC its very buggy, i dont know why...
Randomly my screen goes black with just the background. Sometimes I could be playing for 1hr or more and then it messes up. If anyone knows a fix for it I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Ok heres the problem and solution i hope


Issues with those ATI HD cards and SCC
What you need to do is upgrade your drivers with v 10.4a ,its a hotfix
which resolves stuttering and that black screen .

If the 10.4a doesnt work ,you can try the 10.5 .

Please note im not sure about the 10.5 ifs its a beta or verified!

Also i dont have the game ,so your using these Hotfixs at your own discretion.

Thanks alot man! It seems to be working fine atm. If it seems to act up again ill download the 2nd fix.

it started happening again, but not as frequent. Ill download the second link and try. Do I need to un install the first one before I install link 2?

Well I un installed the first one, and half way through installing the second one it has an error and stops. My resolution messes up for a few seconds, and all my icons are in different places :eek: So I will just go back and use the previous version. :rolleyes:

Ok did you try and lower your settings for the game and check performance
then gradually turning them up and see?


Ok an update ,as far as im gathering it something to do with a UI issue.
This might help ,its an issue the game starts in a resolution unsupported by the monitor.
you might need to manually edit the games configuration file

I played it On xbox 360 and it runned very smooth great game!
