What to put with this skirt - inspiration please

So heres the story - I found this little skirty thing and I fell in love, but i haven't the slightest idea what to put with it.

Boardies, I look to you for inspiration... I don't think my regular 'black goes with everything' solution will work... The blue colour is more purpley blue in good light, and the ribbon is an interesting mustardy colour. And its all satin apart from the lace at the bottom.

What kind of top? What shoes? (It's quite short) Help please

I found it in a huge messy pile in TK Maxx. I love that place, it's like you have to work hard to find something nice! The tag says that its Galliano, but I don't know anything about that brand...

I like the idea of a simple tank top, maybe cream instead of white? I suppose the skirt has enough going on that anthing too frilly would take away from it...

That skirt is lovely, A simple fitted white top would look great as would
any matching colours from the skirt.

It depends on what look you're going for... you can make it preppy with a cropped fitted navy blazer, white tank top, pearls, navy ballet pumps, and a high-street version of a chanel quilted handbag.

Or you could make it more nautical by adding a navy tank top, red lipstick, white shoes..

it could be cool with high wedge heels, they're everywhere at the moment!

or you could go pure eccentric and contrast the skirt with a stripy top, brogue style shoes, and accessorize with multiple necklaces. Clashing is really in at the moment but only for the brave!
