Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is 3-in-one oil ok for oiling / lubing bicycle chains? Or should I be using something else??

I'm going to try cleaning and degreasing my chain for the first time, want to make sure I lube it up again ok afterwards...

I use 3-in-1 oil on my cables, I would never put it near a chain. It attracts too much dirt which will turn the oil into an abrasive, great for wearing down components, not so good for lubricating.

Buy a dedicated bike lube: Finish Line, white lightning, Pedros, etc. It costs the same as a tin of 3-in-1 but it's designed for the job.

3 in 1 was designed for general bicycle use, including chains, but the lubes @DirkVoodoo mentions there are much better. 3 in 1 washes out after a shower.

Went to my LBS and was given TF2 Lubricant. Hopefully that should do the trick...
