Just came across this now. Some years ago a Them compilation was released. Spotify has one of their albums entitled The Angry Young Them. It's amazing to think that had Van been killed in a plane crash like so many other sixties singers in 1966 or thereabouts his reputation would still have been assured. Them were a phenomenal band. Hard to believe that Van was barely twenty when the band folded.
