WC 2010 - Free Kicks?

On FIFA 10 I would have considered myself a bit of a dead ball specialist, free kicks within 30m of the goal would either go in, hit a bar or work the keeper...

My first free kick on WC 2010 was with Glen Whelan against Georgia in a qualifier and it went directly into the top corner so I thought "They didnt change them, easy goals so..."

I was wrong. It seems that Whelan goal was beginners luck as I have not come close since, and that includes me going onto the training ground and practising for a good while.

I used to power up the bar while holding the left stick towards the goal for dip, this doesnt seem to work anymore, anything over 2 bars baloons over the wall and anything under 2 bars hits the wall. Has anyone been scoring free kicks regularily and can shed some light on this?

When I'm too drunk to trust my motor skills or just not having much success I use L1 to keep the ball low and knock it just past the wall with varying degrees of success. Try that technique out for a bit? As for WC 2010? No idea, I don't have it, sorry!

The L1 technique has been refined again for WC 2010, there seems to be some movement on the ball much like real footy, havent mastered it though.

After only recently learning how to score from free kicks in FIFA 10 about a month ago I was HUGELY frustrated trying them in WC 2010. All of my work is undone!

I haven't been having as much success as with 2010, but still scoring a few.

I only really practised 20-30 yard'rs and you need to get it around the 2 bar mark.

There are a few small differences between this and 10.
The ball can go through the wall now(or just over it) although you really need them to stand and not jump(Y) for that.

A big change from 10 is when people move their walls to cover the obvious side, now if someone moves the wall and gives you a clean sight of the middle (and your close) L1 it.

As long as you have a clear sight of the middle of the goal and hit it hard enough he won't be able to keep it out

They are marginally harder, but not a whole lot tbh
