Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Reina didn't put the beachball there.

And the ball wasn't trickling towards him from 30 odd yards.

All keepers are told to do that. Theres no way you could consider that a howler, just extremely unfortunate.

Youre right, it was the Liverpool supporters who put it there :D

Although you should never play a backpass on target, just as Gary Neville :pac:

Man, that was the worst match I've ever experienced. But he never touched it, shouldn't have been allowed!

Was there a penalty awarded once against a goalkeeper for taking the ball slightly outside the box when taking a kickout from his hands? I vaguely remember this happening in the '90 World Cup I think it was?

Scores at one end and then straight away makes a mess of it at the other end.

    Very timely thread.
Anyone else watching the Football League show right now? Some of the goalkeeping throughout the leagues on the last day of the season has been very dubious to say the least...resulting in at least a handful of howlers.
    Very poor form:(

How could a penalty be awarded for that? The 'hand ball' would have to have been outside the penalty area.

None more so that other keepers. Crossley had the highest rate of penalty saves for any Premiership keeper. He saved 13 out of 20 penalties.
