Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

His antics in the first half were an embarrassment to the game of football. A 32 year old man acting like a 4 year old child. Its shocking to see.

Not surprising considering the 32 year old man in question!

League Champion and highest scorer in the league.. He seems to have a knack of making up for his shortcomings.

No actually. I dont follow any premiership team as I am not English!!!

Just a sports fan looking on and was disgusted in the process.

Make no mistake I'm very neutral with regards who won the league today!

There are about two likeable people in the premier league.

this is an Irish board frequented by supporters of primarily English teams, please lets not go down this road in this thread as its um... bollocks

Drogba has always acted like a petulant lil child on the pitch afair, its annoying maybe even deplorable yes but he is still a fkn animal on the pitch. 29 league goals and 13 league assists this season, despite him heading off to the ANC during it and having Anelka for competition as Chelsea dont always play 2 strikers.

Im a ManU fan but far play to Chelsea for finishing off the season in style .

Also far Play to Drogba for finishing top scorer .

Im glad the seasons over and only 1 point difference .

Thats how it should be .

Giddy up to the World Cup now :D

Also happy for Spurs getting to the Champions league .

I think they will go far in it

after reading about work he has done building a hospital in the ivory coast, despite being incensed by his actions on the pitch, i have a new found respect for him this year. fair play to him on the golden boot.

I prefer him to Rooney, if that was Rooney Grey et al would be going on that Rooney does that cos it shows he wants it so much...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 967 ✭✭✭Jigga

He won the golden boot and got 9 more assists than Rooney (plus he doesn't take penalties) and still gets almost no credit for it.

His childish behaviour is pathetic though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,518 ✭✭✭krankykitty

It was funneh seeing the big baby with his actual baby being interviewed!!

While his carry on was stupid today about the penalty, you can't take it away from the guy, he is a fantastic striker.

It's the usual stuff. Torres and Drogba score loads, they're one of the best strikers in the world.

Rooney does and he's the best player in the world. Period.

Odd way to describe it. So you don't think there's much of a bios towards English players in the English media?

    Denial.

I think Drogba tends not to get credit because his antics are so toe-curling at times. And they don't add to his game, just detract from it.

And that's coming from somebody (a united supporter) who rates him higher than Rooney or Torres.

Of course there is. No denial here.

It's futile to complain about it, we all know how Sky work. Best thing is stop taking them seriously.

It was only a year ago when Torres was being lauded as being as good as Ronaldo, they just deal in hyperbole. No point in complaining about it.

Drogba is a moany whinger, but my god the man can stick the ball in the onion sack like few others.

Honestly one of the top 5 strikers in premier league history.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,068 ✭✭✭Bodhisopha

To be fair, he admitted after the game that he was wrong.

Don't see why he's not given the penalties anyways but i suppose they are a vital component of the Lampard hypejob.

Nice jersey. Yeah, even though they're in that group they still have the best chance of all the African teams I reckon.

    Drogba = Marmite

Either love him or hate em .

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,709 ✭✭✭CR 7

Maybe slightly :p hypocritical, but i hate him for almost the same reason i like ronaldo so much. They both make up for their playacting when it matters. He's the most dangerous striker in the world when he's on form (if you don't count ronaldo and messi as strikers, like some do). I'd say defenders would even say they hate playing against him more than any other, except maybe vidic, with the little torres thing he has. He's even added those fantastic free kicks to his game too, love seeing them fly in almost as much as i hate watching him celebrate them.

Positives - 6 foot plus, built like a tank, good in the air and strong with both feet

Negatives - a cheat, a sulker and plays like a 8 year old girl when he's sulking. No matter what he does now he will not be considered among the worlds or even the premierships top players.

If I was in the running for the golden boot and one of my teammates wouldn't let me take a peno, then I'd be rightly pissed off too.

Arguably the worlds best striker and does a lot of charity work as someone has mentioned.

Bit of a bad loser, but lots of super competitive people are.

It's not like he's done anything nearly as bad as John Higgins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Didier Drogba shows emotion when going for an award, doesnt get to take the 1st peno, pulled himself together and scored a hat trick in our biggest EPL win to secure the title, I couldnt care how he reacted, shows how much he wants to win.
