1991 Raleigh "Mirage" for sale. At least that is what it originally was. The original Mirage frame, made from Reynolds 501 tubing, has since been changed under guarantee by Raleigh. New frame is also Reynolds 501, but obviously not a Mirage. Pretty much everything else has been changed out at some point, the only original items left from the Mirage as sold are the Reynolds 501 handlebars, the complete front wheel (Exage 500 hub) and the front Shimano Exage 300LX derailleur. Rear wheel is a Mavic 281 rim on a Deore LX Parallax hub, 7 speed cassette with Deore LX derailleur. Deore DX Rapidfire STI's take care of business up front and virtually new Dia Compe 987's anodized in purple take care of the braking. The brakes only went on the bike about 50 miles ago. Currently on road tyres. This is a great old retro bike, fun, very comfortable, a great ride and in good condition. Original frame would have been a 23", this is the sloping TT equivalent, so really only suitable for 6 foot plus people. Frame dimensions are ST 49cms c-c, 53.5cms c-t. Actual TT is 58cms c-c, probably 60cms effective c-c. Marin Lite Cro-Mo 130mm stem, Deore M510 Crankset. €225 ono.
