Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    thecageyone (winner of last assignment) is not available at the moment, so has asked that the next assignment be created on his behalf. So here goes;

The theme of this assignment is 'Landscapes' .

    General rules apply:

*Photos must be in by 2 weeks of given task - closing date midnight Sunday 23rd of May.
*No old photos. Only photos taken with this task in mind qualify - sorry. Therefore, dated 9th of May onwards.
*Photos must be on the given task.
*ONE photo per post. Post as many as you like.
*C&C to be encouraged - but be nice about it.
*Stretch yourself - no limitation to what you can do to produce the image.
*Next task/subject to be chosen by person who has the most thanks after their post (must include a picture in the post ).

So off with ye - get shooting and Have Fun!!

(ps - hope i got the date stuff right - shout if not and i'll edit the post).

pps - for inspiration try here or here

EDIT: Oh yeah, - can all discussion head over to the assignment discussions thread.

Is it wrong to complain to the person who set the challenge that I live in one of the biggest and busiest cities in the world and feel excluded from this assignment because I can't contribute easily to it...or should I STFU and either not contribute or think outside the box to contribute. I mean I don't even own a car so I'd have to trouble myself to get public transport to somewhere remotely landscape-ish....I say this with the pattern of complaints in previous challenges in mind :p

Primrose Hill @ 5am one morning I think using public transport to get there shoot an HDR and make it monochrome with a person from an ethnic minority in the shot who's under 8 years old with their pet dog (with some luck)! :D

    ......joking!!!

No limit on links but be kind to people :)

Also you might want to post the image inline so that it shows up while people are viewing the thread. Check the FAQ's on the main forum, there is a tutorial there and it is dead easy with pix.ie which I see you are having to host your images.

    Good luck.

    Hi Rita,

I see you are using Pix.ie... if you go to your picture there and click on 'sizes' just over the top right of the picture it'll bring you by default to 'large size' which is 800px. If you look at the bottom of the page, underneath the picture, under the section entitled 'To link to this photo from another website' there are two white boxes with writing in. If you copy the writing in the second box (Forums), and paste it directly into your post on boards it will embed the image for you.

I think Cityscapes would get things going for you and the more pedantic here. :)

Was this not taken before the assignment started, i thought i seen this up for C&C on the main photography forum? Could be imagining it though...

Edit yip, i just stumbelled on your thread (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055906372) posted on the 9th you said on the thread you took the photos yesterday (meaning the 8th) dont get me wrong its a good photo but the idea of the assignments are you take the photo for the assignment! as this assignment started on the 9th your photo was taken before the assignement started, sorry but felt the need to share....

I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it has givem me 'food' for thought for future 'experiments' ! ..................................... 0C17E77B0FF04972BCF17437ADEFE354-240.jpg

    [/SIZE]

I chose Landscape because I think I'm pretty crap at them tbh :D I was interested to see what others came up with, and also ready to be envious of the locations they have access to. There is nothing juicy landscape-wise within walking/cycling distance of me either :(

I'm entering this on behalf of the transition year student I had on work experience with me last week. It is his photo. It's probably not a true landscape but thought I could get away with it as it's something travelling 'through' a landscape?

Nice tilt-shift. Not a landscape really though, but it does work well for what it is. You have to look twice to realise it's a real dart :)
