    It's intentional, and it's not just on www.highlandradio.com.
    The ad programme, or whatever it's called, can pick up on words in the text and then display relevant ads. If you click on the news item "Polls open in Northen Ireland elections" the displayed ad is for Hotel Belfast / discovernorthernireland.com. For "Gweedore principle (sic) praised for stance on underage drinking" the displayed ad is for an addiction treatment centre (in South Africa).
