Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Folks a quick question, the GF picked out a bike there at the weekend for the bike to work scheme. Her employers (MNC) say that the scheme is now closed, but from reading up on it it seems that once its offered to one employee it has to be offered to all.

Does this include a closing date set by the company?

The scheme has to be made available to all employees and directors, but there are no rules preventing the employer setting a time limit on "applications" - They are perfectly entitled to "close" the scheme at any time.

Was it "open" for any length of time, or have they indicated that applications will only be accepted during certain periods during the year?

Cheers Beasty, the GF has looked into it and it seemed it closed last June and was posted on the intranet, she's only been looking at it the last few weeks so would have noticed the ad last year or thought to go looking that far back.

She may want to suggest it would be helpful to her and other employees if they re-opened it for the summer - who knows, they may even listen!

Fairly miserable thing for the company to do...whats their gain by stopping it?..Bit of admin?

Yep she's going to ask them, its a large enough company so there'd be some uptake and they are one of these employers that "care" about their employees wellbeing so we'll see :pac:

Well its a no go for the company.

Does any one know if you can claim the tax back directly from revenue?

My mum went about looking at this last week - she works for the dept of education. They too only opened for applications for a small period of time last winter according to our local bike shop. She was unable to get an answer if it would be open again when she contacted them. I work for a different department and my application should be through at the end of the week hopefully. Go figure.

Thread on the Department of Education scheme here which suggests it will be operated again this year, but bikes will only be available under it from January
