I usually setup the lights first and without making a fuss. Then get them in for a few seconds...

This applies to children too.

Good suggestion but the flash (no matter how dim) usually scares her

. the ears drop and she just doesn't look a happy dog = bad pictures

Mod note.

There is an explicit rule in the thread title regarding the dimensions of photographs posted to this thread.

I've just deleted a few posts where the posted images break this rule.

It is deeply, deeply unfair to have to mod posts like this. We don't have unlimited time and the rule is pretty difficult to miss for anyone who actually clicks on the link that opens the thread.

If you post images in this thread, they must not measure more than 800 pixels longest side. If you break this rule, you will at the very least see your post deleted [at some stage when one of us gets to it] and if you are a persistant offender, I will consider banning you.

Please bear this in mind before posting. 800 pixels longest side in this thread.
