Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

McClaren, if he has the full backing of the board could do wonders with Wolfsburg. Fantastic manager really.

Not doing to bad for himself.

Actually a bit of a wierd one since Wolfsburg only finished 8th in the Bundesliga and are not in the CL.

Maybe bigger budgets and he probably brought Twente as far as they could go. The comments on bbc are funny from a west ham fan "thats a relief, not the right man for west ham" :D

Good luck to him. Great manager imo. It's great to see an English manager outside of the UK doing well. Would have loved him to join Hamburg, oh well.

Should have a nice bit of money to spend when Wolfs sell Dzeko.

Should have stayed at FC Twente for another season IMO

Shame not to stick around for Twente's inaugural season in the CL imo, could have raised his profile even further if he were able to cause an upset or two. But I guess he knew the capability and limits of his team and decided it wasn't worth it.

Can't wait to hear him doing all his press conferences in a German accent!

I just read the article and he says it's to do with family more than anything. If that's the case then fair enough. Best of luck Herr Steve!

Delighted for him. Hope he makes a good go of it there.

Do they still have many players from their title-winning side?

He'll need a back-up keeper straight away after the other one got stabbed the other night.

He is following a similar career path to Roy Hodgson.

Was looking forward to seeing McLaren in the Champs league next year, hopefully it'll be the year after.Wonder if his first job will be to hold on to Dzeko?

Looking forward to hearing him speak in a rediculous German accent in a few weeks.

Good move for McLaren, looks as though Twente will have to sell a few of their better players who are targets for bigger clubs. He might bring a couple with him actually.

He could do very well there, there's a few quid to spend and only Munich with a superior squad in the league.

There's almost no chance whatsoever that FC Twente will be able to produce a shock in the Champions League. They've already lost one of their best players (Blaise Nkufo) and their other good player (Bryan Ruiz) is almost out the door. Even when they had those two players, they were still completely outplayed by an average Werder Bremen in the UEFA Cup.

Dzeko is by a garden mile the best striker in the Bundesliga with the possibility of being one of the top strikers in Europe. He is 99% certain to be playing with another club next season. Wolfsburg's other good striker (Grafite) is also supposed to be on his way out this Summer. That leaves Wolves with the not good enough Martins as their main striker. A lot depends on who McLaren will being in to replace their two key men.

The really interesting part here will be how McLaren works with Misimovic. Misimovic is a genius and was key to Wolves winning the Bundesliga two years ago, but his attitude stinks and his work rate can be atrocious.

He should have the nuts to say its just for the better contract and better budget. Saying he has lived apart from his family for two years in the Netherlands, but now the family can join him in Germany???

I didn't realise just how draconian the immigration rules are regarding families of English football coaches in the Netherlands, utter carp. Does not compute.
