I overdosed on Donies. Then Zam Zam. Soon after I finished with Ninos. Golden Grill was my last regular before i moved abroad. I'd murder some of their food now.

Not to worry, it was still a good recommendation

Phelans in Mountrath gets my vote.

    Grease in a bag, imo.

One of the lads went in one day after school and goes to Eddie(the owner) "Well, I'll have a bag a salt and a few chips there, please."

Used to, seems to be under new management now, and the chips are possible the worst in the country, they have even changed the magic garlic sauce among other things. Why, i ask you why.....

Nearly every chipper in town is open when they clubs are closing, they'd be stupid not to.

Not true at all. The good ones are closed, ie Ninos and Golden grill. They are clean and well maintained and have never bothered with the hassle of dealing with drunks late at night.
Although i think Donal is a nice man his food is well below par. As for Zam Zams, I think you are taking your health in your hands eating there.

As far as Portlaoise goes i think it is between Ninos and Golden grill. Go down town on a sunday afternoon and you willl have to queue, meanwhile Donies will be dead.
