The above table is based on the 5 seeded teams from the final qualifying round all winning. We would require Sevilla, Bremen, and Zenit to all lose their ties (and us to win ;)) for us to get into the 2nd pot. It's unlikely, but none of the three teams have handy ties:

    Sporting Braga vs Sevilla
    Werder Bremen vs Sampdoria
Zenit St. Petersburg vs AJ Auxerre

Clubs from the same association will not be drawn into the same group.

A computer draw determines the final position of the teams within their group. These positions determine the order of the home and away matches. The following match sequence applies:

    1st match day: 2 v 3
    4 v 1

    2nd match day: 1 v 2
    3 v 4

    3rd match day: 3 v 1
    2 v 4

    4th match day: 1 v 3
    4 v 2

    5th match day: 3 v 2
    1 v 4

    6th match day: 2 v 1
    4 v 3

That means we would get one of Inter/Barca/Bayern/Sevilla/Milan from the 1st post, all of which would be savage.

Pot 2 is wide open for us, but options might be limited by the pot 1 team.

Pot 4 will really depend on how the champions qualifying round goes.

Right, at the risk of counting chickens before they hatch, should we get past Young Boys in the qualifier we can look forward to a draw for the group stages from these pots:

    Pot1|Pot2|Pot3|Pot4
    Inter|Lyon|Zenit|FC København
    Barcelona|Bremen|Panathinaikos|Spartak Moscow
    Man Utd|Real Madrid|Spurs|Tel Aviv
    Chelsea|Roma|Rangers|Sparta Prague
    Arsenal|Shaktar|Ajax|Twente
    Bayern|Benfica|Schalke|Rubin Kazan
    Sevilla|Valencia|Basel|Cluj
    AC Milan|Marseilles|Anderlecht|Bursapor

jeez based on above , worst case scenario would be getting a pot one team and then real madrid as well !!!

I think we could take a pot two team (outside maybe real) at home.

Part of me wants the easiest possible group but truth be told I want barca and real

Of course, shows how much champions league I have watched :)

In that case I'll go for AC and real.

(Provide we get through) Worst case scenario:
    1. Inter Milan
    2. Real Madrid
    3. Tottenham
    4. Spartak Moscow

    Best Case Scenario:
    1. AC Milan
    2. Valencia/Bremen
    3. Tottenham
    4. Cluj

That said I would love if we got AC, Inter, Real or Barca! As a Spurs fan, they would be mouth-watering!!
