Mary Harney's banning of the head shops,

Every time I read that thread title I read it as 'Mary Harney . . . chipshops' for some strange reason.

    Democracy having achieved its objectve..?

Not sure what you're saying here: that we should bend over backwards and let them have their way until the next general election, even though chances are the ****wits aroudn you will probably vote for more?
Fascist much? Those "****wits" have as much as a right to have a say as you do. They are entitled to vote how they choose.

Do we still have the death penaly for treason?
Hanging's too good for them, I say.

No, the death penalty is banned under the constitution; as well as through our EU membership.

So what do we know about the protestors. Are they affiliated to any groups?

The serious point about this is that Rupert Murdoch's Sky News might have undermined the perceived democracy in Ireland by over-hyping a non-story! Even if the story was only on the ticker for a few minutes the damage would've been done.

    Shocking journalism from Sky.

After they reported a factually inaccurate story ? I'd rather the late but true story.

Here is a shot in the dark. But dont you think that RTE might have actually sat on this story. You dont have to report every story there and then. There is a thing called doing a bit of research first.
Sky obviously jumped the gun on this.

UTV News have the story... and they're calling it a "storming"

A Northern Ireland news source wanting to undermine the "Free State" maybe?!

Isn't this just the UTV story, just worded very slightly differently...:)

    LOL
A Sky news reporter however still actually managed to verify the events in Dublin, give some basic details over to England (besides other news sites reporting same) and RTE couldn't even find a phone I'm guessing?

"Hey lads, I hear there is a bit of trouble at the Dail!"
    "Really?"
"Yea, damn glad I picked up the phone for just 30 seconds to tell you - otherwise we'd look like complete slow fools!"

Heard it on Sky News myself. If this is true these people should be charged with terrorism.
Yeah Im sure this will...... Its (if true) an assault on democracy. No matter what party you support its still an assault.

WTF are you two talking about???
I think the country needs to go Greek.

Oh? So we can halt production and fcuk ourselves even further? No thanks.
