The Dail is ours, not theirs. I wouldn't mind breaking the gates down and having a mass sit in for all the different strata of Irish society currently hard done by, in protest of not this cut or that bailout, but of the general lack of moral fibre and accountability that sits in that building on a daily basis.
I'm a capitalist, a businessman and I believe in paying our debts and making cuts.
But I cannot abide these people who love power and, in many cases, money more than they serve their country.0 -

TBH I dont know how something like this hasnt happened already. Every one you talk to has a gripe with the government, yet when someone protests or talks about protesting the same statements come up

In fairness a lot of the cutbacks and the bank bailout may have been necessary to an extent, in order to get the financial system back on track, but this government continues to get away with doing what they like. The state we are in has got to do, in most part, with the mis-management of the country by Fianna Fail, the current government. People are angry, people complain and yet when a protest is organised they are vilified.
Trying to storm government buildings is a bit excessive (what were they going to do when they got in anyway?) but I think there are numerous reasons to protest against the current government.
- Handling of the FAS/Rody Molloy affair
- State of the health service (how long has Mary Harney been in charge their and theres absolutely no improvement)
- Handling of top bankers like Seanie and the likes
- Their salaries and pensions (although I do agree that politicians should be reasonably well paid because they do have an important job and that needs to be reflected)
- Refusal to hold outstanding by-elections in order to hang in there as long as they can
- The general crony-capitalism that the country witnessed in the past few years
TBH this government is self serving and living in a world of their own. With the level of anger out there Im surprised there arent more protests against them.0 -

However Irish individual banks are not treating their home customers in the same fashion, their rates are being increased, the frozen rates is not being passed on to them. Customers are advised by the ECB to move their mortgage elsewhere if possible or at least start asking questions at their bank and Irish politicians! The Health Service
- Failure to explain how the hell they got it so wrong!
- Failure to explain why the hell Harney is still in charge!
- Failure to explain how when the celtic tiger was roaring, they from the start ****ed up so completely with monetary funding and help!
- Failure to support services enough, ones that are still on their knees and regarded by the rest of the world in some cases as the same standard to be found in a third world country!
- Failure to justify how they, Fianna Fail can in one week spend 10 MILLION euro on a bike track through Dublin (was it as the time an attempt to buy and keep the support of the Greens at their crucial RDS vote?) yet two weeks earlier, refuse to fund a NATIONAL children's hospital with a slightly less amount, that had to close wards, services and theaters due to lack of supposed money being available?
- Failure to explain the thousands of streachers lining corridors of hospitals throughout the country that are filled with patients - while wards are closed within the same buildings alone!

Mr O'Higgins, a former senior partner at accountants PriceWaterhouse Coopers with absolute strong international credentials, had favoured the introduction of vouched expenses for TDs and senators. They are making it harder to gain information on your local and state representives – and just exactly what they are getting up to in our name.

Customers are advised by the ECB to move their mortgage elsewhere if possible or at least start asking questions at their bank and Irish politicians! - Failure to explain how the hell they got it so wrong!

- Failure to explain how when the celtic tiger was roaring, they from the start ****ed up so completely with monetary funding and help!
- Failure to support services enough, ones that are still on their knees and regarded by the rest of the world in some cases as the same standard to be found in a third world country!
- Failure to justify how they, Fianna Fail can in one week spend 10 MILLION euro on a bike track through Dublin (was it as the time an attempt to buy and keep the support of the Greens at their crucial RDS vote?) yet two weeks earlier, refuse to fund a NATIONAL children's hospital with a slightly less amount, that had to close wards, services and theaters due to lack of supposed money being available?
- Failure to explain the thousands of streachers lining corridors of hospitals throughout the country that are filled with patients - while wards are closed within the same buildings alone!
