I'm just wondering for people who've done both PLC courses and college
what differences did you find in the social side i.e nights out and fellow students in a PLC course compard to college students.

i'm interested in your guys take on it

i always found PLC courses to be disappointing on that side of things
The work side is fine but the social side stunk compared to college which i found more outgoing

The problem with social life in PLCs is that most courses are only one year so there is no carry over of experience from one year to the next. By the time people have settled in and got themselves sorted, then figured that maybe a bit of social activity might be good .... but they have to organise it themselves, the year is almost over.

Also VEC PLCs are limited by regulations for schools (a staff member would have to be in charge of activities) which would limit things a bit!

I found it quite dissapointing, the college I went to did try to organise nights out but there were 3 different campus' so not everyone ended up knowing about nights out etc. Also felt as if noone was pushed to make an effort to go out or socialise as you would in college! I ended up dropping out at the end of the year because the course wasnt for me, that was just my experience though!
