Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering if it is safe/legal to cycle west through the Red Cow interchange and along the Naas dual carriageway to Naas? Has it been upgraded from N7 to M7 yet? What are the shortest/safest alternatives?

Red Cow roundabout a bit of a maze if you have never been on it. The N7 is marked on it but its a very tricky roundabout to negotiate if you are cyclist.

It's an N road, so you can use it. I've cycled it before and didn't have a problem.

Thanks for that folks. Will just have to take it handy on the interchange.

There may be a cycle lane there but if you have never done the roundabout be careful. A lot of lanes and it is slopes and then down. Even drivers find it hard to negotiate.

AFAIK there is a cycyle route alongside the luas line that will get you through the redcow interchange without encountering any traffic.

There is a cycle lane. If you are going from Dublin to Naas, look for the pedestrian overpass. Its shared use.

If you are coming from naas along the N7 you take the bus lane on the left and follow the signs for the Luas station. Which involves doubling back on yourself. Then when you are in the carpark of the Luas head left for the luas tracks where they go underneath the road and you should find it. Its really not obvious the first time. It's another wonderful Irish solution but next time I'm sure they'll get it right.

If you're heading into town at a time when there there's not much traffic, there's an easier / quicker way: Keep to the left of the bus-lane as you approach the interchange and turn left along the the slip-road that's sign-posted for Clondalkin. Make a U-turn after it merges with the slip-road to bring you back into the interchange and you can race through the roundabout as the road slopes downwards and the wind is more often than not blowing from the south west. ;) This route has the advantage that it keeps you to the left of all other traffic though performing the U-turn could be tricky if there's other traffic coming in or out of Clondalkin.
