Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Fatboy Slim - The Rockafella Skank

    The words are: Check it out now, the funk soul brother

    Not: Check it out now, I fukked your brother

    Moby natural blues

    Oh Lady, travel so high
    Oh Lady, travel so high

    Don't nobody know my travel cigar
    Don't nobody know my ........................... travel cigar

    I've always been awful for this!

    Until literally a few years ago, I sang;

    "Oh you cater in love,
    Oh you just have to wait" (as in tables!)

    Instead of;

    "You can't hurry love,
    No, you just have to wait"

    Most recently;

    There's some song always on the radio.

    Until last week, I ironically thought it said;
    "This is my decision, But you keep being missing after work"

    It actually goes;
    "This is my decision, but you keep on messing up the words"

    The song is Free from Desire by Gala

    The actual lyrics are :

    My lover's got no money, he's got his strong beliefs

    my version...

    My granny's got no money, she's got a flat to lease...

    Years I was singing that!!! really needed to get me ears tested :D

    There are loads more... and probably gathering by the day :P

    Complicated by Avril Lavigne
    "Chill out, what you yelling for?"

    I thought was

    "Chill out, wash the yellow floor"

    Also, I knew a girl who thought (when she was younger) the Coca Cola ads at Christmas that say "Holidays are coming, holidays are coming... always Coca Cola" was "How many days are coming?... always Coca Cola"

    I first thought Arcade Fire's song Laika went like "all by the shore" but it's actually "our mother should've." :o

    When I used to hear Elton John and George Michael singing, "I won't let your son go down on me" I used to think, "Yeah right, I bet ye would" :rolleyes: til I realised it was 'sun' and not 'son' :o

    My Bunny lies over the ocean , my bunny lies over the sea , my bunny lies over the ocean , oh bringback my bunny to me "

    I always felt really sorry for the girl singing that as I thought her bunny had fallen in the sea and she wanted him back :o

    Years later I learned it was my Bonnie .!!

    One I only realised this morning:

    In Jimmy Eat World's "Salt, Sweat, Sugar" ("Bleed American"), he sings "Our hearts, littering the topsoil", but until today, I was singing "Our hearts, living in a toaster!" :o

    A friend of mine thought the line at the end of Pulp's "Disco 2000":

    "What are you doing Sunday baby?" was

    "What do you do with Sunday gravy?"

    How I lolled! :p

    The chorus to Suffragette Suffragette by Everything Everything goes,
    "Cause you're gonna sit on the fence when I'm gone
    Cause you're gonna sit on the fence when I'm not there"
    but sounds awfully like,
    "Who's gonna sit on your face when I'm gone?
    Who's gonna sit on your face when I'm not there?"

    Travie Mccoy - Billionaire

    What should be: "I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen"

    I heard as: "I wanna sleep right next to Oprah and the Queen"

    The girls and I were all getting ready to hit the town one night recently when one of them goes 'Yayy, someone put Dirty Bitch on the iPod!' We just looked at her a bit bewildered and she glared back at us like we were morons and went 'Eh Dirty Bitch, the BlackEyed Peas song!?!' She's the slut of the group too ironically enough :)

    At a pub gig I was playing years ago there was one guy rocking out in his own little world at the side of the stage. In between songs he'd shout up at us to play 'Hundred Trucks', he was about 50 and eastern European, so imagine his accent if you will 'You Play Hundred Trucks' coming at me after each song. Eventually we belted into a tune and he ran out to the dancefloor and went apeshít, like an ape possessed by its own shít. When we finished the tune he ran up in the sweats and thanked us, 'You play Hundred Trucks, amazing.'

    The tune in question was Thunderstruck by AC/DC.

    OH thought for a long time that the chorus line of Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon was

    WOOOOOOOOOOAHHHHHH, LETS STOP THIS TONIGHT

    Still hasn't got old taking the piss out of her when the song comes on :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,340 ✭✭✭borderlinemeath

    I worked with a woman who was always singing along to the songs on the radio, a few years Britneys Spears "Womaniser" came on and she started singing away.

    "One banana, one banana, one banana baby!!"

    We got her the ringtone for her birthday.

    My OH is always getting slagged at family occasions and asked to give a rendition of his favourite song from his childhood - Mulligans Tyres.

    Yep, Mull of Kintyre/Mulligans Tyres was sung as a six year old as his party piece and not one of the adults laughing at him, not with him corrected him until he was a teenager.

    She does actually sing that at one point though..
    Just when I felt like giving up on us
    You turned around and gave me one last touch
    That made everything feel better
    And even then my eyes got wetter
    So confused, when I asked you if you love me
    But I don't wanna seem so weak
    Maybe I've been California dreaming

    A Japanese guy I worked with thought 'the sweetest dream will never do' from I Don't Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith was 'the Swedish dream will never do'. I got a great laugh out of that one.
