Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
My son's new Trek 2.1 54 cm was taken from him on Wed afternoon in the Milltown area. It was a bike he had saved up for along with his confirmation money and he is really devastated. Please be on the lookout for this bike as I would really appreciate it's return.
    Many thanks,
    David.

    FFS.

It's fairly distinctive - blue, black and white, but from a distance they mostly look like a black bike with white handlebar tape.

It's the same bike as mine so I usually notice people who are on one, I'll keep an eye out.

    Hi KM,
It was nearly brand new so no marks. It did have a sticker with our name and phone number but this is easily removed. Also a Bontrager Node 1 comp with a speedtrap fork sensor. Look style pedals (union).
Yea there were 4 bikes taken, the lads were standing beside them when 4 big lads (my guy is only 12) came, threatened them and made off with the bikes.
To make matters even worse when they called 999 the operator told them to "tell your Mummies". They do the right thing by calling for help when threatened and are let down. I'm furious about it !!!

By the way the other bikes taken were, Trek 1.2, Viking Giro D'Italia and a Raleigh MTB (don't know model).

If you see any of these please PM me.

    Thanks,

    David.

Really sorry to hear about that.

I had a bike taken off me when I was around the same age. It's a horrible thing to happen, I kept hoping someone would come along but there was no one about. I did manage to get it back in the end, so hopefully the same will happen here.

    Best of luck.

Live down the road, will let you know if I see anything. Chances are the cúnts are relatively local.

Thats awful. Recently had me own bike stolen and its an awful experience. Feel completely helpless.

Maybe you could put pictures up of the bike(s) and maybe somebody might notice them around.

Maybe we could have a stickie with pictures of stolen bikes perhaps Mods??

Still no sign of my son's Trek 2.1 so I would ask everyone to keep an eye out this weekend.
    Description: Trek 2.1 54cm frame (Blue/Black/White)
Bontrager Carbon fork. Shimano 105 gears. Union clipless pedals (they are a cheap pedal for this standard of bike so will look a little out of place)and Bontrager Node 1 computer.

Please pm me if you see this cycle. My 12 year old is still devastated by its theft.

    Many thanks.

    David.

eircom operator or Garda operator? Either way I'd be making a complaint to the commissioner.
