I have just got a phone line connected in the house. Problem is that the phone line works with an old handset but I cannot get the new Philips wireless phone ro give me a dial tone. I have followed the proceedures outlined in the Philips manual but to no avail. The puzzling bit is when I plug the old phone...I get the dial…

The only thing I think it can be is the wire from the old handset to the wall. The new wire from the Philips box must be wired different ?
