Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

About Jeff's love for Ann Frank.

    s05.bogvnybf.170x170-75.jpg

The Constructus Corporation - The Ziggurat

A weird South African rap album made by Waddy (Ninja from Die Antwoord), Felix Laband & DJ Sibot. It tells the tale of two kids (Randomboy and Kidtronic) on a gigantic space**** that has escaped the destruction of earth.

    dangerdoom_mouse_mask.jpg

Dangerdoom - The Mouse and the Mask

Collaboration between MF DOOM and DJ Dangermouse using a load of [adult swim] samples whilst DOOM raps about a lot of the cartoons. Really f*cking good.

    Pink Floyd - The Wall

Lots of my favourites mentioned here: Yoshmi Battles the Pink Robots, Dark Side of the Moon, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, Sgt.Pepper. Actually most of my all-time favourite albums are concept albums. I'd also like to add this. It's a masterpiece.

I don't listen to many concept albums but I love 'the Antlers - Hospice'

Story's a cliché but the metal is mean and the album is excellent from the former Gods of Gore! Tho in fairness this was way more of a solo effort this time around...

Man I love that Mansun album. Ever time it comes on the ipod shuffle I always think how I must go and listen to it properly again...

Tommy by The Who or the wall by Pink Floyd would be my choices, the wall is a joy to listen to from start to finish.

Some good choices, I have plenty but when listening to them don't ever think about the music in terms of thematic story arcs or whatnot. And some are just too "nebulous" for that sort dissemination anyway.

    Too wit -

The story of which is too barking mad to describe so here's wiki

He also has MM...Food where all the songs are about erm, food.

Prince Paul - A Prince Amongst Thieves is brilliant, a movie made into a soundtrack made into an album with different characters.

Deltron 3030 - life in the future

Misplaced Childhood by Marillion is another favourite of mine.

Released in 1968 and panned by some "critics" at the time, this album sees Muddy record experimental psychedelic blues tracks with members of Rotary Connection.

There is some fantasic tracks on this album, from Muddys cover of the Stones "Let's Spend the Night Together" in gospel style to his classic "Hoochie Coochie Man" with some free jazz style in the mix, all in all a favourite album of mine which sees Waters conceptualized as a psychedelic musician

What's the unifying concept on "Silent Shout"? (Great album btw, one of my favourites).
