Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know these you tube videos can be misleading but from what I see I would say its safe to assume hes better than carrick, he scores goals, creates, can hold up the ball well too, good close control , he really has everything

I'd say he'd only get the legs kicked off him in the Premiership!

    Still he looks handy.

There are alot of players better than Zidane ever was,

    Scholes
    Fabregas
    xavi
    iniesta

    To name just a few

Fabregas plays the ball early for the most part, he's not a dribbler. Defenders are so athletic these days that most dribblers are fairly nullified in the Prem, unless they have a quick turn of pace. Ganso can spot a pass but doesn't look that quick tbh.

    LOL, just LOL

None of them have the CV that Zidane has, not close. Maybe if you add all their achievements together you would have a chance...

Granted Zidane stepped up in the big tournamnets but consistency wise throughout a league season for juve or real he was no where near the players I mentioned

How else did he manage to make Real Madrid think that he's worth €75M?

That seems like a baiting comment to me. zidane was a great player he really was but to compare him to people like scholes, fabregas and iniesta smack of attention seeking

If Madrid do actually want him, then other clubs may as well give up.

Kaka had 1 good CL campaign and was considered one of the best in the world on the back of it. He cost Real more than Zidane did so justifying a players ability on what Real payed for him is just plain wrong imo.

Consistency sure but Zidane was still a better football player than all of them.

Paul Mcshane is consistantly bad but he's not better Zidane.

I find it dangerous to judge people by YouTube snippets. I mean thinking back if I had a camera on me during my (few) finest moments and I made a two minute compilation from that you'd think I was the white Pele or something And yet people who know me know I'm pretty crap. Anyone can have flashes of brilliance.
Not saying these guys aren't brilliant. But what's a YouTube snippet going to prove? Nothing.

Im not judging him by this youtube clip, im judging him by what he has done for santos this season but youtube clips are the only way of showing glipses of his all round ability

    Who mentioned Kaka?

Kaka cost €63M, Zidane cost €75M. Real Madrid did both deals in Euros, not pound sterling which is what has you confused. And we arent factoring in economic growth or inflation.

    So back on topic.

Paulo Henrique linked with Milan in today's Corriere dello Sport. Apparently he was identified by soon to appointed new manager Allegri as someone he'd like to have in the squad next season.

Know next to nothing about the lad, he any good?

Thread should have been closed there and then.

On topic, from watching youtube he looks decent, but youtube isnt a good indication of a players ability, it just shows a highlight reel of goals and flicks & tricks.

In fairness, Ganso already has a youtube highlight clip about him at the age of 20.

Zidane had to wait until 2004 when he was 32 for his.

    Ganso > Zidane. Q.E.D.

Manchester United and South American players -just don't work out in the long run!

Should be obvious by now to even those the fall for the hype of guys yet to prove themselves in a real top-class league!

Linked with Barca a few years ago, then had an atrocious year with Santos so he fell under the radar. Apparently the transfer talk got to him. Glad to see him do well though because some South American lads I used to talk to said he was by far the best player in Serie A for a season or two.
