People like to pretend they don't drink to get drunk so they have one more thing they can look down on others for.

I enjoy drinking and getting drunk is sometimes the end result .

Getting drunk just for the sake of it is fun for many , for may others it's a need to temporally escape from problems .

I think many people are inbetween and drink for both reasons above .

Some people just like a drink

I like having a few drinks with my mates with the intention to relax and have a good time, if that means I get drunk then grand, if not I still have fun and enjoy myself either way.

I usually drink to enjoy the drink. Not because I intend on getting drunk. Pretty pointless drinking just to get drunk IMO.

You should try J.D and coke:D. I'd agree with the op though,if you don't want to get at leat a bit tipsy then there is no point in drinking.

It depends on the occasion. If it's with the lads on a night out yeah I get really drunk.

But if it's a socialable night I'll drink to not get drink.
