If you make a post and then decide to delete it before anyone sees it, do mods still get a copy? Can they read something you've deleted?

Just to officialise the answer, yes, mods of the forum in question, along with cmods and admins can see deleted posts and also any edits you made after you posted the original. :)

So if i made a dumbass post, that warranted a warning/ban, but deleted it straight away, would i get the warning/ban even though i deleted it?

Depends of the forum you posted in tbh.

If it was malicious then probably yes, if it was just for a laugh and the mods realised that then I'm sure most would cut you some slack.

I've let people off in the past for this and given the benefit of the doubt where they've posted something borderline and then deleted it (presumably having re-read it and seen it was dodgy). I've also posted stuff myself in the past that on second thoughts wasn't clever and deleted it - common sense applies mostly.
